When you are participating on an Online Course, we and third parties may collect and store the following additional information:

  • comments that you voluntarily post in online discussions with our educators and other Users;

  • any communications via email or website forms with Our Company when you seek user support or send queries related to any Course on our Website;

  • any Content submitted by you during the Course run, such as written assignments, quizzes, and examinations;

  • any Data and documentation you voluntarily submit in order to verify your identity where required to obtain a certificate or academic accreditation (may be collected by our third-party identity verification vendors who may store your Data for the sole purpose of identification verification);

  • responses you voluntarily provide to our Company, our educators, or third parties in questionnaires, surveys, or user research that you participate in related to the Course.

3. Our Use of Data

3.1 Any personal Data you submit will be retained by Belgian Education Council for as long as you use the Services and Systems provided on our Website. Data that you may submit through any communications System that we may provide may be retained for a longer period of up to one year.

3.2 Unless we are obliged or permitted by law to do so, and subject to Clause 4, your Data will not be disclosed to third parties. This includes our affiliates and / or other companies within our group.

3.4 In order to provide you with the best possible service and experience when using our Website, Data may be used by us for the following reasons: 3.4.1. internal record keeping and managing your Learner account;
3.4.2. enabling other Users on our Website to view the information you have chosen to add to your profile, depending on the profile settings you have selected; 3.4.3. performing assessment of your learning progress; 3.4.4. providing you with instructional and technical support; 3.4.5. sending you email notifications and updates about Courses you are enrolled on; 3.4.6. providing the university or other educational institution that is your current employer with your progress track in order to formally recognise your professional certification in case if this organisation funds your learning with Belgian Education Council; 3.4.7. processing payment for product and services that you purchase on our Website; 3.4.8. distributing promotional materials that may be of interest to you by email or by messenger service; 3.4.9. contacting you for market research purposes which may be done using email, telephone or messenger. Such information may be used to customise or update the Website; 3.4.10. video recording during the events including webinars and conferences if you choose to be a participant;  3.4.11. using your Data in an aggregated format to identify trends on our Website and trends in our customer database. We may use the Data in an aggregated and anonymous format and may share this information with third parties; 3.4.12. performing analysis and evaluation to improve our products / services.

4. Third Party Web Sites and Services

Belgian Education Council may, from time to time, employ the services of other parties for dealing with matters that may include, but are not limited to, payment handling, delivery of purchased items, search engine facilities, advertising and marketing. The providers of such services do not have access to certain personal Data provided by Users of this Web Site. Any Data used by such parties is used only to the extent required by them to perform the services that Belgian Education Council requests. Any use for other purposes is strictly prohibited.   • our  provider for PowerPoint extension and integration ClassPoint;
  • our file storage and management service providers;
  • our Website hosting provider GoDaddy;
  • our Learning management system provider LearnWorlds.

5. Changes of Business Ownership and Control

5.1. Belgian Education Council may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business and this may involve the sale of certain divisions or the transfer of control of certain divisions to other parties. Data provided by Users will, where it is relevant to any division so transferred, be transferred along with that division and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this Policy, be permitted to use the Data for the purposes for which it was supplied by you.

5.2. In the event that any Data submitted by Users will be transferred in such a manner, you will be contacted in advance and informed of the changes. When contacted you will be given the choice to have your Data deleted or withheld from the new owner or controller.

6.5. You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal Data on payment of a small fee. 6.6. Similarly, if we have already collected and processed your personal information on the basis of your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time.  Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent. 7. Your Right to Withhold Information
