About the fair

How many foreign students do you need to attract to your university in the 2025–2026 academic year?
It's not an easy task and time is running out. The Belgian Education Council, as always, extends a helping hand and offers an efficient solution!

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Educational Fair for attracting foreign students from Tunisia (North Africa) to study in your countries in the 2025–2026 academic year.

A pilot group of representatives from universities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan came to Tunisia in May 2024, where they had the opportunity to meet with potential applicants. Students were lining up at our booth, where there were representatives of ENU, Astana IT University, Abay Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University, Andijan Machine-Building Institute and others. There was high interest in studying there. As a result, the idea was born to hold a fair to attract Tunisian students to your universities, where the region's cultural richness and a wide range of educational opportunities will be presented.

Goals

  • Recruiting interested students for the 2025–2026 academic year
  • Providing an opportunity to sign a contract with a local leading recruiting agency that will support each student before the start of their studies at your university
  • PR of your educational establishment in a new region with high potential for academic cooperation: mobility of students and teachers, joint applications for European grants, writing scientific articles
  • Signing memorandums with Tunisian universities
  • Promoting educational opportunities in your countries

Participants will be able to

Present all the educational opportunities
at the university (each university will have its own booth), meet and communicate with potential applicants

Collect contact information from applicants that can be passed on to a Tunisian educational recruiting company for guiding students through the payment process for the 2025-2026 academic year

Cope with other tasks of the International Department

Why should students from Tunisia be attracted?

  • The population of Tunisia is about 13 million.
    • Around 76,000 new students per year
    • Over 20,000 students leave to study abroad every year.
Until 2022, most middle-class families preferred to send their children to study in Ukraine and Russia. But due to the current situation, this flow of students (more than 5,000 people) can now be redirected to other countries. Tunisians study in English and Russian.
  • Promotion in Tunisia is the first step towards entering Arab countries.
